The
original Historic Heidelberg and Capitol House Hotels were
restored in Downtown Baton Rouge. Constructed around 1920,
the Heidelberg served as Headquarters for many of Louisiana
Governor Huey Long’s historic “deal making” meetings. The
Capitol House was added to the complex in the 1950s. The
renovation combines both hotels and bears the Hilton Flag.
The hotel contains 293 guestrooms, including 2 suites.
Other amenities of the hotel include, but are not limited
too, a concierge level, scenic pool deck overlooking the
Mississippi River, main and junior ballrooms, meeting space
overlooking the river, restaurant, spa, business center and
fitness center. Construction began in late 2004 and was
completed in 2006. The building has been renovated to its
original Interior and Exterior design and is receiving state
and federal Historic Tax Credits.
Since
its opening, the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center continues
to be one of the highest performing Hilton Hotels for
customer satisfaction.
